My practice is primarily focused in the areas of employment law advice and counsel and employee pension and welfare benefits. I take a practical, preventive approach to employment law which focuses on improving employee relations while ensuring employer compliance.
My practice includes: Drafting employee handbooks, policies and procedures, job descriptions, applications, etc.; Conducting Human Resources Audits; Negotiating employment agreements; Training management and staff; Ensuring Federal and South Carolina compliance including FMLA, ADA, Title VII, ADEA, wrongful termination; Responding to discrimination charges; Advising on ERISA and HIPAA welfare plan issues.

Ms. Speidel has been a frequent speaker for South Carolina Chamber of Commerce events, local SHRM conferences, and state wide industry groups.
Prior to forming Speidel Law Firm in 2014, Ms. Speidel was a shareholder with Haynsworth Sinkler Boyd, leading the Firm’s Employment, Employee Benefits and Immigration Team. Before joining HSB in 2000, she served as general counsel for HealthFirst, a regional provider-owned managed care organization in the Upstate. In this role, she gained experience as an in-house lawyer and as a member of the executive team – experience that has made her distinctly qualified to assist clients with employment law and employee benefits issues.
